How Husband Murdered Wife over Infidelity in Imo
A harrowing incident has shaken the community of Nekede in Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State, where an unidentified man is accused of fatally stabbing his wife amid suspicions of infidelity.
The distressing episode came to public attention through a viral video capturing the man attacking his wife with a knife.
Reports indicate that the husband was tipped off by a concerned neighbor on April 10th regarding alleged extramarital activities transpiring within their matrimonial home.
Rushing back home, the husband purportedly discovered his wife in a compromising situation with her lover in their bedroom, while their six-year-old daughter was left unattended in the living room.
Consumed by rage, the husband allegedly assaulted his wife with a knife, inflicting severe injuries upon her, while the lover was permitted to depart unscathed.
In response to the incident, the Imo State Police Command issued a plea to the public, particularly residents of Nekede, urging them to come forward with any pertinent information.
Henry Okoye, spokesperson for the command, stated, “The Imo State Police Command is aware of the video circulating on social media and wishes to state that the alleged incident has not been officially reported to the police.”
He continued, “However, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct a thorough investigation into this disturbing incident and ascertain the facts.”
Okoye concluded by urging individuals to report any information they may possess about the incident to the nearest police station or via the provided contact number, emphasizing the collective endeavor to ensure justice in this case.
