Governor Fubara Gaining Organic Support in Rivers State for Policies and Leadership Style, Says Former Wike Aide
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is receiving organic support from the state’s residents due to his leadership style and policy initiatives, according to Opunabo Inko-Tariah, former Special Adviser on Media to the immediate past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.
In a media briefing held in Port Harcourt, Inko-Tariah praised Fubara for his tolerant and peaceful disposition, noting it contrasts with the more confrontational stance of the previous administration. Fubara’s approach, he said, has contributed to a fresh start for the state and a break from the challenges faced under the previous leadership.
Inko-Tariah emphasized that while many initially expected Fubara to continue the previous administration’s style, his new policies have won over the public and increased support for his leadership. Fubara’s recent initiatives include increased employment in the civil service, promotions, and salary increases for local government workers, as well as a generous Christmas bonus for civil servants.
The former media aide commended Fubara’s efforts in reviving local agriculture projects, such as the Songhai Farm and banana plantation, which will create jobs and boost the local economy. He urged Fubara to continue prioritizing human capital development to empower the state’s unemployed youth with skills, fostering self-reliance and broader benefits for the community.
