Gombe man announces marriage to uncle’s daughter, shares childhood photo taken when bride was 2

A man from Gombe State, Musa Ahmad Elshaarawy, has announced plans to marry his uncle’s daughter, Khadija.

Elshaarawy made the announcement in a Facebook post on Tuesday, January 14, 2026, where he shared a throwback photograph of himself with Khadija taken in 2011. At the time the photo was taken, he was 12 years old, while Khadija was two.

According to details on the wedding invitation he shared, the marriage ceremony is scheduled to hold on January 23, 2026.

In his post, Elshaarawy reflected on their early years, recalling moments from Khadija’s childhood when she and her mother frequently visited his family home. He wrote about helping to care for her, buying snacks for her on his way to school, and spending time with her as she grew up.

He identified the bride-to-be as Khadeejerh and noted that the wedding was ten days away at the time of his post.
