Three Boys Brigade Members Die, Others Injured in Crash While Traveling for Funeral of Late Colleague and Daughter
Three members of the Boys Brigade Nigeria have lost their lives in a fatal road accident that occurred along the Gombe-Billiri Road on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Several others sustained injuries in the crash.
The victims were travelling to Tal in Billiri Local Government Area to attend the funeral of a fellow Boys Brigade member and his daughter, who had earlier died in a separate accident at Rainbow Roundabout.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident on Wednesday. According to the state Public Relations Officer, Janet Kassa, preliminary investigations indicate that tyre failure may have been the cause of the crash.
In response to the tragedy, the outgoing Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Gombe Branch, Benjamin Sati, offered his condolences to the affected families and the Boys Brigade community. He extended sympathies to the Gombe State Council of the Brigade, particularly its president, Chief Caleb Ubale Esq., and also expressed solidarity with the people and government of Gombe State.
“We pray for comfort for the families of those who lost their lives and healing for the injured. May God grant strength and peace to all affected,” Sati said.
