A federal high court in Abuja has ordered the remand of Senator Ali Ndume, who stood surety for Abdulrasheed Maina.
The court ordered that Ndume be remanded because of the non appearance of Maina in court.
Maina is standing trial on 12-counts of money laundering.
You would recall that Ndume had said that some prominent Nigerians pressured him into standing as surety for Maina.
One of the terms of the surety is for the senator to accompany the defendant to the court on every date fixed for trial.
It is on record that, Maina who was released on July 28 after spending nine months in Kuje prison, has failed to present himself in court since the trial resumed on September 29.
