#EndSARS: Edo Police parade rearrested jailbreakers, others
Edo State Police Command says it has re-arrested 18 inmates who escaped from the two medium correctional centres in Benin, during the #EndSARS protest jailbreak in the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, who disclosed this in Benin, the state capital, said the police also arrested 30 other suspects for their involvement in armed robbery, cultism, and other criminal activities.
The End SARS protests which were hijacked by hoodlums in Edo State about a month ago led to jailbreaks at the two correctional facilities in the state while some hoodlums continue to unleash terror on residents of the state on a daily basis.
But the Commissioner of Police at a parade of 48 suspects in Benin City including armed robbers and cultists suspects said the police will no longer fold its arms and watch criminals continue making the state uninhabitable for residents.
A suspect, Sunday Ezekiel, was one of those paraded by the police and he was arrested for allegedly robbing a POS stand of the sum of N400,000.00 along Lucky Way, Benin City.
Other suspects paraded include rearrested jailbreakers, armed robbers, a car snatcher, and one notorious armed robber, Frank Erhabor, who was alleged to have burnt a police station with his gang members, among other crimes leveled against him.
Kokumo, however, assured that the police will not rest on its oars until all the arms and ammunition carted away by the hoodlums were recovered and rearresting all escaped inmates.
