Finally, Dunamis Church Addresses Controversy Surrounding Testimony of NOUN Graduate
The Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja has responded to the recent controversy surrounding the testimony of Ms. Anyim Veronica, a graduate of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), during a church service on Sunday.
Veronica had testified about her graduation with a B.Sc in Law from NOUN, but Pastor Dr. Paul Enenche interrupted, questioning the validity of her degree. However, subsequent evidence from social media confirmed her graduation, sparking criticism towards the church and its pastor.
In a statement released on Monday, the church defended Pastor Enenche’s actions, stating that the interruption was not intended to harm or embarrass Veronica but was based on concerns about the accuracy of her testimony.
The statement clarified that the interruption was prompted by several factors, including concerns about the clarity of Veronica’s spoken English, the duration of her studies, and the unfamiliarity of a B.Sc in Law as a degree in Nigeria.
The church reiterated its commitment to excellence and truthfulness while expressing regret for any inconvenience caused to Veronica. They assured her of their support for her physical and spiritual well-being.
The statement concluded with an acknowledgment of the unintended consequences of the incident and a reaffirmation of the church’s dedication to the welfare of its members.
