FG Says South-East Central to Tinubu’s Agenda, Pledges Inclusive Governance
The federal government has affirmed that the South-East region remains central to President Bola Tinubu’s vision and agenda.
During a Citizens’ Engagement in Enugu on Thursday, Information Minister Mohammed Idris emphasized that the region has not been—and will not be—marginalized under the current administration.
The minister, leading a three-day tour of ongoing projects in Enugu and Ebonyi, explained that the initiative is designed to allow direct interaction with citizens and showcase the government’s development efforts in the South-East.
“Nigeria will never go back to an era where the South-East or any part of the country is treated marginally,” Idris said.
He highlighted that President Tinubu has established development commissions for previously underserved zones, ensuring equitable attention for all regions. The minister also pointed to balanced appointments and fair distribution of projects as evidence of the administration’s inclusive governance.
“By the end of Tinubu’s first term, the benefits of his reforms will be clearer. The federal government remains committed to transparency, accountability, and delivering the dividends of democracy to all Nigerians. With Tinubu, Nigeria is marching towards prosperity,” Idris added.
The minister further noted that the government has launched various empowerment and humanitarian programs to cushion the impact of fuel subsidy removal and other challenging but necessary policies.
