FCT Police Launch Investigation as NYSC Member Goes Missing in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into the disappearance of Eunice Ameh, a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and lawyer, who was reported missing after leaving work in Abuja.

According to family sources, Ameh recently began working as a Sales Manager at a company in the Maitama area and had resumed the role about two weeks ago.

A relative said she was expected to participate in her final Community Development Service (CDS) exercise on Thursday ahead of her official passing-out from the NYSC scheme.

Ameh was last seen around 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, after leaving her office for Life Camp, where she lives. Family members became worried after repeated attempts to contact her failed, as both of her phone lines were switched off.

Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, said the matter was reported at the Maitama Police Division on May 7.

“On the 7th of May, 2026, at approximately 6:30 PM, one Mr Zachariah reported at Maitama Police Division, Abuja, that a staff member of his organization, Ms Linda Ameh, left the office premises for home on the 6th of May, 2026, at about 5:40 PM and has not been seen since,” she said.

Adeh added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, had directed a full investigation into the case.

The command appealed to members of the public with relevant information to report to the nearest police station or contact the FCT Police Command through the Public Relations Officer on 07038979348.
