Father of Three Beats Wife to Death Over House Rent
In a shocking incident that happened in Mile 4, Port Harcourt, a father of three, Mr. Michael Chidozie, stands accused of brutally beating his 32-year-old wife, Mrs. Ufuoma Chidozie, to death over unresolved issues related to house rent.
Local authorities report that the tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, sending shockwaves through the community. The suspect, Mr. Chidozie, was promptly apprehended on Wednesday morning by police personnel from the Agip Police Division, Mile 4, Port Harcourt, based on credible intelligence.
Mrs. Ufuoma Chidozie’s lifeless body was discovered by her brother, who had rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call from the suspect. Sources reveal that the victim bore visible bruises, suggesting a violent encounter with her husband.
Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the arrest and subsequent detention of Mr. Chidozie, emphasizing that a thorough investigation is underway at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt.
A source, preferring anonymity, disclosed that the couple had been embroiled in a heated dispute over the responsibility of clearing their house rent. Allegedly, the husband had pressured his wife, and the disagreement escalated into a fatal confrontation.
