A notorious group of armed robbers orchestrated simultaneous attacks on two commercial banks in Anyingba, located in the Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State. Eyewitnesses on Thursday reported chaotic scenes marked by sporadic shootings, with Union Bank and Access Bank falling victim to the audacious heist.
Swift response from security forces ensued, engaging the criminals in a fierce exchange of gunfire. The intensity of the confrontation led to residents seeking safety amid heavy gunfire and explosions echoing around the targeted banks.
Despite the ongoing crisis, attempts to obtain an official statement from the State Command of the Police Force were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
