Father Kills Son, Nursing Mother, and Injures Others in Delta State; Mob Lynches Him
A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of yesterday in the Evwreni Community, Delta State, as a man identified as Samson allegedly killed his young son, a nursing mother, and injured several others in a violent spree. The agitated community responded by carrying out a brutal form of jungle justice, beating Samson to death and setting his body ablaze.
The shocking event occurred around 2 a.m. when Samson, who had reportedly been exhibiting strange behavior, smashed his toddler son to death. As neighbors rushed to sympathize, Samson attacked and killed a nursing mother, identified only as Princess, who had stepped outside with her child. During the chaos, a yet-to-be-identified male and others attempting to intervene were also injured.
A local source, speaking anonymously, revealed that Samson had been scheduled to visit a medical center for treatment before the violent outburst occurred. “He first killed his son, then fatally attacked the woman with a machete as she was outside with her child. In the process of trying to stop him, more people were injured,” the source explained.
As news of the incident spread, an enraged mob apprehended Samson, beat him severely, and set his body on fire, along with his motorcycle.
Although Delta State Police Public Relations Officer Edafe Bright could not be reached for comment at the time of reporting, a senior security official confirmed the incident, stating: “By the time our men arrived at the scene, the suspect had already been lynched and set ablaze by the mob.”
