#EndSARS: Nigerian Army testifies before Judicial Panel over Lekki Tollgate shootings
Officers of the Nigerian Army have appeared before the Lagos State Judicial Commission of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses and Other Matters to testify over the October 20 Lekki Toll Gate shooting of #EndSARS protesters.
Appearing as defense counsel to the Nigerian Army is A.B. Keyinde.
The Panel had adjourned its sitting after two representatives of the #EndSARS protesters withdrew in protests over the clampdown on their colleagues including blocking of their bank accounts by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
The panel has gone on a short recess to enable them deliberate on the submissions raised by Adeyinka Olumuyiwa (SAN) representing some End SARS protesters who raised objections on the terms of reference guiding the proceedings of the panel.
Meanwhile, counsel for the Nigerian Army, Akinlolu Kehinde (SAN), told the panel that not a single petition has been made so far against the Nigerian Army over the shootings at Lekki Tollgate on October 20, 2020.
