Elon Musk Opens Up About His Transgender Child: “My Son is Dead”
In a candid interview with psychologist Jordan Peterson on X, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, revealed his deep regret over consenting to puberty blockers for his transgender child. Musk shared that he felt “tricked” into granting permission amidst the confusion of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Peterson highlighted California’s new Assembly Bill 1955, which allows schools to keep a child’s gender identity confidential from parents. This legislation, signed by Governor Gavin Newsom on July 15, 2024, prompted Musk’s decision to relocate SpaceX’s headquarters from California to Texas.
During the interview, Musk recounted his personal experience with his child, Xavier, who now identifies as Vivian Jenna Wilson. He expressed his anguish, stating, “It’s evil. You’re taking kids who are far below the age of consent.” Musk further described the situation as a manipulation of children experiencing identity crises.
Reflecting on his experience, Musk said, “I was essentially tricked into signing documents for one of my older boys, Xavier… and I was told Xavier might commit suicide.” Peterson criticized this notion, claiming no reliable clinician believed that suicide was a likely outcome of gender dysphoria.
Musk, visibly emotional, declared, “I lost my son, essentially. They call it ‘deadnaming’ for a reason. The reason they call it ‘deadnaming’ is because your son is dead, so my son, Xavier, is dead, killed by the woke mind virus.”
He vowed to combat what he described as the “woke mind virus,” citing a preprint study from the Mayo Clinic linking puberty blockers to irreversible long-term fertility issues in boys. This contradicts earlier assertions that the effects were reversible.
Vivian Musk, formerly Xavier, publicly announced her transgender identity in June 2022 at 18, also seeking to change her name and adopt her mother’s surname, stating, “I no longer want to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”
Musk’s announcement to move SpaceX and X’s headquarters to Texas follows California’s new law restricting parental rights over their children’s gender identity issues. Musk affirmed that his decision was premeditated, having warned the governor of his intentions should the bill be signed into law.
