Edo Election: “We Will Unseat APGA in Anambra, Expand APC’s Influence in Southeast” – Ganduje
In a recent statement, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has expressed confidence in the party’s plans to expand its influence in the Southeast, starting with Anambra State. Following the APC’s recent victory in the Edo State election, Ganduje revealed that the party is now setting its sights on unseating the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra.
Speaking at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, Ganduje congratulated Senator Monday Okpebholo on his triumph in Edo and hinted that the party intends to replicate the same strategy in Anambra and Ondo in the upcoming gubernatorial elections. He emphasized that securing Anambra would strengthen the APC’s foothold in the Southeast, aligning with its existing control in Imo and Ebonyi states.
“Our project is political de-marginalization of the Southeast,” Ganduje stated, underlining the importance of expanding APC’s influence in the region. “We already govern two states in the Southeast, but that is not enough for a party of our size. We are now strategizing to win more states, starting with Anambra next year.”
