Edo Deputy Speaker, Idiaye Impeached Days After He Declared Support For Ize-Iyamu
The Deputy Speaker of the Edo state House of Assembly, Mr. Yekini Idiaye has been impeached.
Idiaye, who represents Akoko-Edo Constituency I was impeached by his colleagues during Wednesday’s plenary session of the House.
Mr. Roland Asoro, representing Orhionmwon II Constituency was elected the new Deputy speaker.
The impeachment of the erstwhile Deputy Speaker came barely three days after he declared his support for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the September 19 gubernatorial election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu. Idiaye during a visit to the Benin city resident of Ize-Iyamu pledged his support.
