DSS Builds Tinubu Centre for Islamic Studies in Kaduna

The Department of State Services (DSS) has unveiled a new Islamic learning facility in Kaduna State named the Tinubu Centre for Islamic Studies. The centre, which seeks to enhance education, religious harmony, and community development, was formally commissioned by the Sultan of Sokoto.

Speaking at the event through retired DSS Director Ahmed Zalmar, DSS Director-General Oluwatosin Ajayi described the initiative as a key part of the agency’s broader approach to strengthening national security through social development and community engagement. Ajayi noted that the DSS is increasingly investing in schools, places of worship, and sporting infrastructure to reach vulnerable and underserved communities across Nigeria.

He explained that the new, fully furnished Islamic school was developed with support from friends and associates, aligning with the broader goals of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Ajayi emphasized that the initiative is meant to build trust between the government and citizens while contributing to internal security by promoting constructive public engagement.

According to him, the DSS is committed to improving Nigeria’s security framework through both conventional and non-conventional means, including targeted development efforts. He added that the agency has been channeling resources from corporate social responsibility and contributions from stakeholders into such projects to support national stability and peacebuilding.
