Deadly Tipper Crash Rocks FCT Community, Multiple Lives Lost
A devastating road accident in the Federal Capital Territory has left multiple people dead following a tipper truck crash in Dutse, a community within Bwari Area Council. The crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Tipper Garage junction.
According to eyewitnesses, the articulated tipper was reportedly coming from the Bwari axis when it lost control, allegedly due to a brake failure. The vehicle veered off the road, crashing into five vehicles, including several tricycles, and struck bystanders gathered nearby.
The impact was fatal. Several bodies were seen at the scene as shocked residents and sympathizers watched in horror. While the exact number of casualties remains unconfirmed, sources described it as a significant loss of life.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident or provide a casualty count. Residents have expressed frustration, noting that the accident site has long been considered a danger zone due to its narrow roads and difficult terrain. Previous fatal crashes have been recorded in the area, raising concerns over the lack of road safety interventions.
