Afrobeats sensation Davido has stunned the entertainment world with the revelation that he now commands an astounding $600,000 (equivalent to N473.7 million) for a single music performance. In an exclusive interview with Zahir Jooma, co-owner of the renowned jewelry store Icebox, Davido shed light on his remarkable journey in the music industry.
The artist emphasized the importance of collaboration and consultation with his team before making any significant career decisions. Davido disclosed that he deliberately limits his performances to no more than four shows per month, which translates to an impressive income ranging between $2 million to $3 million monthly.
“Shows used to be $600,000. Now, it’s even less, as fewer people can afford it. If I manage to do four shows in a month, that’s around $2 to $3 million,” he shared during the interview.
Davido’s rise to prominence has been nothing short of extraordinary during his over a decade-long music career. His latest album, ‘Timeless,’ which was released on March 31, quickly gained recognition on the global stage. It secured the 37th position on the prestigious United States Billboard 200 chart on April 10.
Further underlining his influence, ‘Timeless’ crossed the remarkable milestone of one billion streams across major music platforms on August 3. This accomplishment adds to Davido’s already impressive discography, which includes his previous albums ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ (2012), ‘A Good Time’ (2019), and ‘A Better Time’ (2020).
Davido’s international reach was vividly demonstrated when he graced the stage at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, captivating a global audience with his musical talents. Most recently, on August 29, the Afrobeats star delivered an electrifying performance at the 50th Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Awards ceremony in Manchester, UK, further solidifying his status as a true musical icon.
