Cultists Kill Man on Wedding Day in Delta
Tragedy struck in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State as two men were killed and several others injured in a cult-related attack.
Eyewitnesses reported that one of the victims, a man set to marry on the same day, was gunned down while walking with friends to purchase items for his wedding. The second victim’s body was later discovered at Utagba-Uno Junction. Several other individuals were injured in the violence and were rushed to the hospital for urgent medical treatment.
In response, security personnel have set up roadblocks in the area to prevent further violence and contain the situation. Despite these efforts, residents of the Umusam, Utagba-Uno, and Isumpe communities remain in shock and fear.
The fiancée of the deceased, along with family members and well-wishers, are mourning the loss of the man whose wedding day was tragically cut short. The festive occasion turned into heartbreak as the community is left reeling from the senseless violence.
An eyewitness, known only as Boy, revealed that the groom-to-be was ambushed and killed by suspected members of a rival cult group while out with his friends. “The atmosphere in Kwale is tense, and we are urging people to be more cautious as the festive season approaches,” he said. “We need to stay vigilant in our movements and interactions to avoid becoming victims.”
As of now, efforts to obtain comments from the police have been unsuccessful.
