Bride Allegedly Poisons Food at Wedding, Guest Dies, Groom Hospitalised
Authorities in Jigawa State have arrested a bride and another woman for allegedly poisoning food served during a wedding reception in Jahun Local Government Area. The incident reportedly led to the death of one guest and left the groom critically ill, requiring hospitalisation.
According to Lawan Adam, spokesperson for the Jigawa Police Command, the matter is under investigation, with both women currently in custody and being interrogated by the command’s criminal investigation department.
“We received a report that the bride had tainted the food served at the wedding reception, leaving the groom critically ill,” Adam stated. He confirmed the arrests and assured that the command is working diligently to uncover the facts surrounding the case.
“We urge the public to remain calm and assured that justice will be served,” he added.
The police have promised to release further details as the investigation progresses.
