Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday emerged the Deputy Senate President of the Nigerian senate.
The Senator who represents Delta Central District defeated his only rival for the position, a former Deputy Senate President,Ike Ekweremadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by 68 votes.
Ekweremadu polled 37 votes.
106 senators voted in the election. One abstained and one invalid vote was recorded.
