Bobrisky: “Why I Won’t Honor EFCC’s Invitation” – VeryDarkMan
Activist and social media figure Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, has refused to comply with an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This invitation pertains to allegations of corruption involving the agency’s officials.
In a video statement, VeryDarkMan shared an audio recording that he claims features social media personality Bobrisky, who allegedly stated he was asked to pay N15 million to have a money laundering charge against him dropped. The EFCC responded by inviting both VeryDarkMan and Bobrisky to its Lagos office to assist in investigating the bribery allegations.
However, on Wednesday, Otse expressed his reluctance to travel to Lagos, citing concerns about his safety and his lack of residence in the city. Instead, he proposed that the EFCC conduct its investigations at its Abuja office.
In his video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Otse criticized the EFCC for not ensuring Bobrisky’s imprisonment despite the allegations. He stated, “Before you (EFCC) invite someone like me, do a deep investigation on your officers first. When you get the results from your officers who handled Bobrisky’s file, then you can invite me.”
Otse further emphasized the impracticality of traveling to Lagos for questioning, pointing out that the EFCC’s headquarters is located in Abuja. “You should instead invite Bobrisky to Abuja and do your investigation,” he added. He also made it clear that he does not have N15 million to pay and has no connections that might shield him, stating, “I don’t trust you and I won’t go to Lagos.”
In response to the allegations, Bobrisky has denied ever claiming to have paid N15 million to resolve the money laundering charge, labeling the audio as fraudulent.
