Bobrisky Reacts to Viral Audio Alleging N15M Bribe to EFCC Officers
Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has refuted allegations of bribing officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million to drop money laundering charges against him. The claim was made by social media influencer, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, in a viral audio recording.
The audio alleges that Bobrisky paid the sum to unnamed EFCC officials to avoid serving a prison sentence. In response, EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, announced on Tuesday that the agency’s chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has ordered a formal investigation into the accusations.
However, Bobrisky took to Instagram on Wednesday morning to strongly deny the bribery claims, asserting that he had served his jail term in full. He called the viral recording “fake” and urged the public to disregard it.
“My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison… I didn’t pay any EFCC money, which is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information,” Bobrisky wrote.
