“Bello Turji Should Be in the Deepest Part of the Worst Prison Like Nnamdi Kanu” – Buhari’s Former Aide Bashir Ahmad
In a recent statement, Bashir Ahmad, former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, called for the arrest and imprisonment of notorious bandit leader Bello Turji, likening his actions to those of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Ahmad expressed his views on X (formerly Twitter), asserting that both Turji and Kanu have inflicted harm on Nigeria and its citizens, leading to widespread fear and devastation. He emphasized that Turji should be imprisoned in the harshest conditions, similar to Kanu, who is currently detained.
“Bello Turji, like Nnamdi Kanu, is supposed to be grilling in the deepest part of the worst prison in the country for the terror and death he has inflicted upon Nigerians,” Ahmad wrote. He stressed that both individuals should be held accountable for the violence and insecurity they have contributed to in Nigeria.
Turji recently claimed to have captured two Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs) from the Nigerian Army during an operation. However, the Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) refuted the claim, explaining that the vehicles were immobilized due to difficult terrain during a banditry operation.
