Bayelsa Guber: Alaibe Has Not Withdrawn Court Case – Lawyer
A former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Timi Alaibe has reacted to rumours making the rounds in Bayelsa state that he has withdrawn the suit he instituted against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate,Senator Douye Diri over the outcome of the governorship primaries following pressures from leaders of Kolokuma/Opokuma local government area.
In a statement issued on Friday in Yenogoa by the head of his legal team, Somina Johnbull, described the story as false.
“Our attention has been drawn to the false story that our client, Chief Ndutimi Alaibe has withdrawn the legal action instituted against the conduct and outcome of the Bayelsa PDP governorship primaries at the Federal High Court. We do not have any instruction from, and have not withdrawn the said suit which is still pending in court and which our client is determined to pursue to its logical conclusion” the statement reads in part.
