Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Ewhrudjakpo Graduated From Our Institution – Rivers University
The Rivers state University of Science and Technology (RUST), Port Harcourt, has said the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa state, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, graduated from the institution in the 1996/97 academic session.
An official of the University, Fyne Le Amanyie, who testified at the Bayelsa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Wednesday also said the name on Ewhrujakpo’s degree certificate was misspelt as Ewhrudjakpa.
“He wrote a letter to the university dated January 1, 2000 complaining that his name was wrongly spelt in his degree certificate and that it should be corrected.
“The 4th respondent applied to the university for the correction of his name through the Exams/Record Department” he said.
Amanyie tendered some documents, including the certified true copies of the spread sheet of results of the 1996 part-time students of the university and the convocation brochure of the school.
The candidate of the Liberation Movement (LM), Vijay Opuama, is challenging Ewhrudjapko qualification to stand in the November 16, 2019 gubernatorial election in the state.
