Bauchi Man Fatally Stabs Brother in Gruesome Bid to Inherit Motorcycle

In a shocking and distressing incident, a man from Bauchi State, identified as Yakubu Adamu of Kumbi village in Kirfi Local Government, stands accused of fatally stabbing his younger brother, Yayaji Abubakar. The motive behind the gruesome act was revealed to be a sinister plot to inherit his brother’s motorcycle.

The Bauchi State Police Command swiftly responded to the horrifying incident, apprehending the alleged murderer, Yakubu Adamu. Superintendent Ahmed Wakil, the state police spokesperson, made a grim announcement regarding this tragic event in an official statement released on Friday.

According to Mr. Wakil, the suspect not only committed the heinous act but also confessed to it. He disclosed that the assailant had been involved in a series of motorcycle thefts dating back to 2020.

“On October 13, at approximately 7:30 p.m., one Usman Mohammad, 38, hailing from Gorondo Village via Alkaleri council, Bauchi State, reported a grievous incident to the Divisional Headquarters, Kirfi,” Mr. Wakil stated.

He continued, “He reported that on the same day, around 3:40 p.m., Yakubu Adamu, 25, from Kumbi village via Alkaleri council, armed with a sharpened knife, brutally attacked his younger brother, Yayaji Abubakar, 25, who resided at the same address.”

The attack resulted in severe injuries to the victim, affecting both his hands and stomach. Tragically, Yakubu Adamu also robbed his brother of his prized motorcycle. Yayaji Abubakar was immediately rushed to General Hospital Alkaleri, where he was declared dead.

In a shocking revelation, Mr. Wakil further stated, “During the subsequent police interrogation, the defendant confessed to the heinous crime and went on to disclose that he had been engaged in the criminal act of motorcycle theft since 2020. In that year, he conspired with an individual named Auwalu, also from the same area, to steal a red Bajaj motorcycle. The stolen motorcycle was later sold for N70,000, and the ill-gotten gains were divided among the culprits.”

As the investigation into this heart-wrenching incident unfolds, authorities are working diligently to gather all relevant evidence. Once the investigation is complete, Yakubu Adamu is expected to be charged and brought before a court of law to face justice for his alleged crime.
