Bandits Attack Angwanwaku Village in Kaduna, Leaving One Dead, 19 Abducted
In a tragic turn of events, suspected bandits launched a harrowing attack on the peaceful Angwanwaku community within the Kufana Chiefdom of Kajuru Local Government Area in Kaduna State. During this raid, one villager tragically lost their life, and a staggering 19 individuals, including women, were kidnapped.
The assault unfolded at approximately 12:00 AM on a Saturday when the assailants forcefully entered the community, sowing fear and chaos. Tanimu Makaddas, the Secretary of the Chiefdom, provided critical details about the incident.
The deceased victim was identified as Kukah Yari, while Abuki Dogo sustained injuries during the ruthless attack.
The list of those abducted during this heart-wrenching incident is as follows: Yakubu Abba, Basiru Maiwada, Keziya Silas, Peace Silas, Lami Istifanus, Habila Musa, Bege Liazarus, Joshua Abuki, Juliana Habila, and Stella Yohanna.
Additionally, the following individuals were also reported as kidnapped: Genesis Ezikiel, Deborah Ezikiel, Salomi Dutse, Rifkatu Zaphaniah, Tamar Liazarus, Ejah Habila, Rejoice Ezikeil, Catharine Silas, and Gundu Rubu.
At the time of reporting, neither the police nor the state government had issued official confirmation of the incident. Mansir Hassan, the acting Public Relations Officer for the state Command, had not responded to inquiries regarding the situation. The community remains on edge as efforts to secure the release of the abducted individuals continue.
