Auto Crash Kills Six Members of CAN Women’s Wing in Taraba
Six members of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN) tragically lost their lives in an auto accident in Taraba state on Saturday. The victims were returning from a conference in Gembu, Sardauna LGA, which concluded the same day.
Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. In a statement from his special adviser on media and digital communications, Emmanuel Bello, Governor Kefas referred to the incident as a “black Sunday” for the state.
Governor Kefas pledged his administration’s commitment to improving road safety, especially in high-risk areas. “While praying for the repose of their souls, I want to pledge my administration’s continuous commitment to safer roads, especially within areas that pose great threats to life,” the statement read. He also directed Local Government Chairmen to maintain existing roads with proper traffic controls, signage, and basic repairs to prevent future tragedies.
The governor extended his condolences to the leadership of CAN, WOWICAN, and the entire Christian community both within the state and nationwide.
