Attack on Film Location: Sylvester Madu Escapes Death as Gunmen Kill Four in Cameroon
In a shocking incident on November 25, gunmen attacked a movie location in Bamenda, Cameroon, where Nigerian Nollywood actor Sylvester Madu was present. The assailants stormed a drinking joint, claiming the lives of four individuals and leaving over ten others injured.
Sylvester Madu, popularly known as Shina Rambo, had traveled to Cameroon on November 23 for a film project. Witnesses reported that the Cameroonian fans warmly welcomed the actor, expressing their excitement at seeing him.
The attack occurred around 10 pm at a local snooker championship organized by BIG G VIP at Mile 3 Nkwen. Chaos ensued as unidentified gunmen opened fire, resulting in casualties and injuries among the attendees.
Fortunately, Sylvester Madu escaped unharmed, thanks to the swift response of the Cameroonian police. The police intervened, securing the safety of the Nollywood actor and dispersing the crowd.
DAMA Films, the company that invited Sylvester Madu for the movie shoot, confirmed the tragic incident in a press release. The statement revealed that the attack took place during a guest appearance at BIG G VIP and expressed condolences to the families of the deceased.
The press release stated, “DAMA Films acknowledges the unfortunate happenings and regrets not taking better measures. These grave effects will be taken into consideration in future projects.” The police are currently conducting investigations into the incident.
