Unknown Gunmen Strike, Claiming Lives of Two Police Officers in Imo State

Two dedicated operatives from the Imo police command have fallen victim to an attack by suspected gunmen, adding to the rising wave of violence in the region.

The incident unfolded at Ahiara junction in Ahiazu-Mbaise Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo state. Henry Okoye, the spokesperson for the police command, revealed that Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma has issued directives for a thorough investigation into the matter.

“The command has received the distressing news of two of our officers shot dead by assailants. It is truly unfortunate that these gallant officers lost their lives while on duty at Ahiara junction in Ahaizu-Mbaise LGA,” expressed Okoye.

Commissioner Aboki Danjuma, alongside the Commander of 34 Artillery Brigade and Joint Task Force (JTF) operatives, has initiated a comprehensive search of the crime scene. Their goal is to uncover crucial evidence that could lead to the swift arrest of those responsible for this heinous act.

“The command promises to apprehend the killers sooner than later,” assured the police spokesperson.

This incident follows closely on the heels of another tragic event where suspected assailants claimed the lives of the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ife/Okpodim/Chokoneze ward in Ezinihitte-Mbaise and the traditional ruler of Otulu autonomous community, just days ago. The community remains on edge as law enforcement intensifies efforts to curb the escalating violence.
