A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress African Democratic Congress, Kenneth Okonkwo, has alleged that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is politically linked to President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress.

Speaking during an interview on Symfoni TV, Okonkwo said the circumstances surrounding the party’s creation and registration were politically driven.

According to him:

“NDC is Tinubu and the APC political party. It’s now that Peter Obi is even more trapped.”

He further claimed that the party’s registration followed political meetings involving its national leader, Seriake Dickson, and President Bola Tinubu Bola Tinubu.

Okonkwo added that the process leading to the party’s approval raised questions about its legitimacy.

“Can’t you see? They were not to be registered until I heard it from the Obidients’ mouths that there was a meeting between Dickson and Tinubu, and then, they registered NDC.”

He said the Independent National Electoral Commission initially declined to register the party before a court order compelled approval.

The ADC chieftain also alleged that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi Peter Obi, was drawn into a political setup.

“Meaning NDC was registered to lure him, and then he ran with it. Now he has entered their trap.”

He further accused former Kano State governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso Rabi'u Kwankwaso of inconsistency in his political dealings with Obi.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress has not responded to the allegations.
