Three children have died after a vehicle being driven by a woman undergoing driving practice crashed into a residential building in the Ogbunabali area of Port Harcourt.

The incident occurred on May 15, when a man reportedly instructing his girlfriend on driving lost control of the vehicle during a practice session. The car veered off course and struck a home where the children were inside.

Eyewitness accounts say the crash happened suddenly, leaving residents with no time to intervene. The impact claimed the lives of the three siblings on the spot.

The victims, aged 10, 4, and 3, were children of Amarachi Promise Esomonu, who has since demanded accountability over the deaths.

A resident who spoke on the incident said the car mounted the compound after the driver lost control while learning on a public road. The alarm raised by bystanders came moments before the collision.

The Rivers State Police Command confirmed the incident and said an investigation has been launched. Police spokesperson ASP Blessing Kaborlo Agabe stated that the Commissioner of Police has ordered a full inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Authorities said the command is working to establish what led to the incident and assured that the findings will guide further action. The police also expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.
