Former Anambra governorship candidate and founder of the Valiant Movement, Valentine Ozigbo, has said he sees little distinction between President Bola Tinubu, Labour Party's Peter Obi, and New Nigeria Peoples Party leader Rabiu Kwankwaso, arguing that they all belong to a generation that has failed Nigeria.
Ozigbo made the remarks during his appearance on Arise TV's Prime Time programme on Monday, where he called on young Nigerians to take greater responsibility for the country's future instead of relying on established political figures to deliver change.
“I don’t see much difference between Tinubu, Obi and Kwankwaso. They are Nigeria’s problem,” Ozigbo said.
The former ally of Peter Obi said many members of the older political class had either contributed to Nigeria's challenges or failed to provide solutions, making it unrealistic to expect them to drive meaningful transformation.
“I am saying this because the younger generation needs to wake up and stop outsourcing their destiny to people who, in some cases, have contributed to the problems of Nigeria, while expecting them to fix it,” he said.
According to Ozigbo, Nigeria's future depends largely on the willingness of younger citizens to become active participants in shaping the country's direction.
“We need to remind young people that they are the ones who will ultimately rebuild this country,” he added.
Ozigbo also expressed doubt about the capacity of the older generation to deliver the level of change required to address Nigeria's longstanding challenges.
“I have lost confidence in the older generation to drive the kind of change Nigeria needs,” he said.
