Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has declared support for the re-election bid of Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging a rethink of voting patterns in the South-East.

Soludo made the declaration on Monday during a rally organised by the All Progressives Congress in Ebonyi State, where political leaders and supporters gathered.

Speaking at the event, he called for an end to what he described as unproductive electoral choices in the region. “No more wasting of votes again. I’m endorsing President Tinubu for a second term,” he said. “I stand in solidarity because progressives are working together.”

He further encouraged political alignment with national structures, arguing that cooperation among political actors was now more important than regional isolation. “Igbos should not waste their vote again,” he added.

Soludo also reflected on the South-East’s long-standing voting pattern with the Peoples Democratic Party, noting that it was previously used as a strategy to secure federal influence, but suggested that approach had not yielded the expected outcomes.
