Army Reshuffles Top Leadership Team, Redeploys Theatre Commander, Adeniyi Days After He Complained About Lack Of Firepower in a Viral Video

The Nigerian Army has reshuffled its top leadership team.

According to a statement on Tuesday by the Army Spokesman, Sagir Musa, top among the affected officers was the Theatre commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, General Olusegun Adeniyi who was sent back to school to be a research fellow at Nigerian Army Resource Centre(NARC) in Abuja.

Adeniyi courted controversy recently in a video that went viral online where he complained about the enormous disparity in firepower between the troops and Boko Haram insurgents.

Major General Faruk Yahaya was deployed in his stead as the new theatre commander. Until his appointment was the general officer commanding (GOC) of the army’s 1 division in Kaduna.
