Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State and a prominent political figure, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Rev. Fr. Tobias Okonkwo. Fr. Okonkwo, who served as the Manager of the College of Nursing Sciences at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Ihiala, was fatally shot last night by unidentified assailants.

Obi, who has a longstanding relationship with the College of Nursing Sciences, noted the profound impact of Fr. Okonkwo’s death on the institution’s community. He extended his condolences to the priest’s family, the management, staff, and students of the college, as well as the wider Ihiala community.
Calling for urgent action to address insecurity, Obi urged Nigerians to unite against the menace of violence. He concluded his message by praying for divine comfort for the bereaved and for peace in the nation.
