Anambra: How an 18-Year-Old Boy Impregnated 10 Girls Including Oga’s Daughter, Prompting Public Outcry
A troubling case in Anambra State has drawn widespread attention after an 18-year-old boy reportedly impregnated at least 10 girls, leading the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, to appeal to the public for help. The situation was made public after the boy’s mother reported the matter to the Ministry, expressing deep concern over her son’s behavior.
According to Obinabo, the boy was sent to serve as an apprentice but within just three months, he had impregnated both his master’s daughter and a female sales assistant. Following this, he was dismissed and returned to his village, where he allegedly impregnated eight additional girls.
In a video shared on social media, Obinabo described the case as deeply disturbing and beyond her capacity to handle alone. “This boy was sent to learn trade at the age of 18, and three months into it, he impregnated his oga’s daughter and the sales girl. Two months after returning to the village, he impregnated eight more,” she said.
The boy’s mother, seeking help from authorities, shared her distress, saying, “Anytime I see a girl coming towards our house nowadays, my heart jumps. Please, I need help.”
Obinabo said the boy claimed he merely professed love to the girls and promised marriage once he became wealthy. No spiritual influence or coercion was mentioned.
Though the boy’s identity and community remain undisclosed, the commissioner is urging the public to provide insight or solutions to the issue. “This problem is beyond me because of the boy’s age and the number of pregnant girls involved,” she lamented.
She concluded by urging young people to avoid reckless behavior and to refrain from making or sharing explicit content, as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to uphold moral standards in the state.
