Anambra City Boy Movement Urges Obi Cubana to Convene S’East Leadership Amid Uproar

Amidst reactions following the emergence of Chief Obinna Iyiegbu (Obi Cubana) as Southeast Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, the Anambra State Chapter has called on him to urgently convene a regional leadership meeting to strengthen the structure, grassroots mobilization, and unity across the zone.

While some critics have alleged that the appointment may serve personal interests, the Anambra chapter dismissed the claims and formally welcomed Obi Cubana’s emergence, describing it as a strategic move capable of consolidating support in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a statement jointly endorsed by the State Leader, Hon. Ejike Echeazu; State Secretary, Hon. Dr. Wilson Ekwerekwu; and Assistant State Secretary, Engr. Ositadimma Okafor, the chapter urged the new coordinator to demonstrate decisive and inclusive leadership that would unify stakeholders rather than deepen divisions.

The executives stressed that convening a Southeast leadership meeting would enable proper familiarisation with state executives, harmonisation of structures, and curb the rising cases of impersonation by unauthorised groups.

“We urge the Southeast Coordinator to immediately engage recognised state leaders to consolidate our ranks and strengthen grassroots mobilisation,” the statement read.

The chapter further cautioned the public to steer clear of any group or individuals falsely parading themselves as representatives of the City Boy Movement in the Southeast, particularly in Anambra State.

It reaffirmed its commitment to discipline, unity, and structured engagement in advancing the Renewed Hope vision.
