Always Spewing Gibberish Like a Broken Water Pipe Without a Tap – Wabara Replies Wike

Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), Adolphus Wabara, has fired back at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over his recent remarks, describing Wike’s statements as baseless and lacking decorum.

Wike, during a media chat in Abuja, had stated that if Wabara were his father, he would have disowned him, criticizing the former Senate President’s leadership style as PDP BoT Chairman. The comment has since sparked reactions, with Wabara responding strongly to what he termed an unwarranted attack.

In a statement personally signed by him, Wabara dismissed Wike’s comments as immature, accusing the minister of speaking recklessly without considering facts. He likened Wike’s remarks to “a broken water pipe without a tap,” suggesting that the minister was prone to making uncontrolled and baseless statements.

“I would expect a man of his calibre and status to mind his language and words. He should be sure of his facts,” Wabara said. “But I don’t want to join issues with Wike and dignify him.”

Challenging Wike to explain why he would supposedly disown him, Wabara questioned whether he had committed any offense that justified such a statement. “For a son to disown his father, his father must have wronged him terribly. Can Wike please tell the world what it is I did wrong to him?” he asked.

Addressing issues of corruption, Wabara insisted on his integrity, stating, “Talking about corruption, Nigerians know those who are corrupt, and I can proudly say and beat my chest that I’m not one of them. I, Adolphus Wabara, am not corrupt!”

He concluded by saying he would not engage in a public war of words with Wike, emphasizing the need for respect and maturity in political discourse.
