“If I Were Fubara, You Won’t Set Foot in Rivers Again” – APC Chieftain Tells Wike

Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has launched a scathing attack on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over his recent remarks regarding the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement on Monday, Eze dismissed claims made by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications, Lere Olayinka, who suggested that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s presidential ambition was at the heart of PDP’s internal discord. Eze labeled this assertion as misleading, illogical, and contrary to established facts.

He accused Wike of harboring an irrational grudge against Atiku, calling it a case of “hallucination and Atikuphobia.” According to Eze, Wike’s continuous criticism of Atiku is merely an attempt to stay in President Bola Tinubu’s good graces. He described the FCT Minister as a self-styled dictator who always wants absolute control.

Eze also weighed in on Wike’s ongoing feud with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, stating that if he were in Fubara’s position, Wike would not be allowed to return to the state. He accused Wike of attempting to control the state despite completing his eight-year tenure as governor.

The APC chieftain further claimed that Wike is the mastermind behind the PDP’s prolonged crisis due to his selfish ambitions. He argued that despite being a PDP member, Wike operates in alignment with the ruling APC.

Tracing Wike’s political rise—from a local government chairman to Chief of Staff under Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of State for Education, and Governor of Rivers State—Eze asserted that Atiku never undermined the PDP. Instead, he said, it was the party that provided Wike with the platform for his political success.

Concluding his remarks, Eze urged Wike to abandon his alleged schemes against Atiku, warning that they are doomed to fail and will ultimately lead him into political irrelevance.
