2027: Edo Will Give Tinubu 100% of Votes – Gov. Okpebholo
Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of full electoral support from the state in the 2027 presidential election. Speaking at the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) social investment and food outreach programme in Benin City, Okpebholo emphasized that Tinubu’s commitment to the welfare of vulnerable citizens has earned him the people’s trust and loyalty.
The event, held at the New Festival Hall in Government House, marked another phase of the RHI food outreach, which began in March 2024. So far, seven states—Kano, Benue, Nasarawa, Ekiti, Cross River, Gombe, and Edo—have benefited, with Kwara, Kogi, and Abia next in line.
Okpebholo praised Nigeria’s First Lady and RHI National Chairman, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her dedication to ensuring citizens enjoy the dividends of democracy. He acknowledged that the initiative’s success would not have been possible without the president’s support, reinforcing his commitment to delivering Edo’s votes in 2027.
“We are happy in Edo State as our people are beginning to see and enjoy a new dawn,” Okpebholo said. “Look at food items all over the place in this hall—all thanks to the president and his wife for this great initiative. We assure you, Mr. President, of 100% of our votes in 2027, and if possible, even more.”
Representing the First Lady at the event, Hajia Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President, highlighted the RHI’s progress in empowering women and youths across Nigeria. She urged beneficiaries to utilize the food items wisely for their families’ benefit rather than selling them.
Since 2023, the RHI has rolled out programs targeting education, health, economic empowerment, social investment, and agriculture as part of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. More initiatives are expected in the coming months to further support vulnerable groups.
The First Lady of Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Anani Okpebholo, also expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that in less than two years, it has impacted millions of Nigerians. She assured that the food items would reach those in need and commended Governor Okpebholo for his developmental efforts within his first three months in office.
