Aiyedatiwa Suspends Akeredolu’s Chief Protocol Officer

Ondo State’s acting Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has suspended Bola Alabi, the Chief of Protocol to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. Aiyedatiwa appointed Olusegun Omojuwa, the Deputy Chief of Staff, as Alabi’s replacement.

The official announcement came through a circular titled ‘Preparation of the acting governor’s engagements,’ disseminated to relevant state government departments by Omojuwa. The circular outlined the temporary delegation of duties and specified that Alabi would resume his responsibilities upon Governor Akeredolu’s return from a medical vacation in Germany.

“The Chief of Protocol (Mr. Bola Alabi) will take charge of this responsibility as soon as Mr. Governor resumes from his medical vacation,” the circular stated.

Aiyedatiwa, who assumed office just two days ago, wasted no time in performing his duties. Sources indicate that he has been actively engaging in administrative matters and holding meetings with stakeholders. However, it was noted that he has yet to officially meet with all members of the State Executive Council since assuming the governorship.

The swift administrative changes signal Aiyedatiwa’s intent to assert control and streamline the functioning of the state government during this interim period.
