Again, VeryDarkMan Arrested by Police in Abuja
Nigerian social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has been arrested by police officers in Abuja. The arrest was confirmed by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, via his X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, May 2.
According to Adeyanju, VDM was apprehended at a GTBank branch in Abuja. “JUST IN: VDM arrested by the police at GTB. Spoke to them before he was arrested. This is absolutely unacceptable. Demanding accountability is not a crime,” he posted. In a follow-up message, Adeyanju added that VDM was taken into custody alongside his friend, C Park, while his mother, who was with them, was left behind.
As of the time of this report, the Nigerian Police Force has not issued an official statement regarding the arrest. This incident comes months after VDM was previously detained in November 2024, following an invitation he honoured from the police.
