Again, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin Threatens Lawsuit Against VDM over Fresh Allegation

Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, the General Overseer of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, has once again threatened legal action against prominent social critic Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), following new allegations.

The controversy began when VDM accused Prophet Fufeyin of exploiting his congregation by selling spiritual materials, particularly bottled water labeled as ‘Pool of Bethesda water’ and ‘Red Sea water.’ One of these products allegedly carried a National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) registration number, prompting VDM to petition the government agency for an explanation of their endorsement.

In response to these allegations, Prophet Fufeyin reportedly filed a N1 billion lawsuit against VDM. Undeterred, VDM conducted an independent test of the products, which claim to possess miraculous healing powers, by administering them to a group of disabled individuals in Abuja. According to a viral video documenting the exercise, none of the participants reported any healing effects.

In a recent development, VDM took to his official Facebook page, claiming that the prophet had removed some of the contested items from the church’s official website. However, this claim was swiftly denied by the church management.

In a statement released on Saturday night by spokesperson Sophia Lloyd, the church dismissed VDM’s allegations as “unfounded lies” and “cheap propaganda.” The statement also clarified that VDM is not an official representative of Mercy Television or the church and lacks the authority to speak on their behalf.

Furthermore, the church confirmed that its legal team has been instructed to take appropriate legal action against VDM to address what they describe as a deliberate attempt to defame Prophet Fufeyin and tarnish the church’s reputation.
