After Dumping Labour Party, Kenneth Okonkwo Holds Meeting with Atiku Abubakar
Actor-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo has met with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to discuss Nigeria’s future, months after his exit from the Labour Party.
Okonkwo, who was a strong supporter of Peter Obi and served as the Labour Party’s spokesperson during the last election, parted ways with the party in mid-2024. His departure was accompanied by sharp criticism of Obi’s leadership, claiming that the party lacked direction and that its members were uncertain about its future.
Following his exit, Okonkwo has now engaged in discussions with Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the last election. Sharing photos from the meeting, Okonkwo described it as a “privilege and honour” to consult with Atiku on Nigeria’s path forward.
“The situation in Nigeria today requires the cooperation of every well-meaning Nigerian to ensure that our country is restored to its path of greatness,” Okonkwo stated.
