Adamawa State Begins Payment of New Minimum Wage of N70,000

The government of Adamawa State, under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has commenced the payment of a new minimum wage of ₦70,000 to civil servants, effective from August 2024.

 

The decision was confirmed by Comrade Emmanuel Fashe, Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Adamawa State, following a private meeting with the governor at the State Government House in Yola.

 

This move comes as part of Governor Fintiri’s commitment to uphold the Federal Government’s resolution on the new national minimum wage, which he had pledged to implement during the 2024 May Day celebrations.
