Adamawa: Mentally-Ill Man Runs Rampage, Kill Nine in Kate-Gamji Village

A mentally-ill man, identified as Ali Denham, went on a deadly rampage, leaving at least nine villagers dead in Adamawa State. The tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday evening, sending shockwaves through the tight-knit community.

Residents of Libbo Ward in Kate-Gamji village were left in a state of shock as Ali Denham, for reasons still unknown, embarked on a brutal killing spree that claimed the lives of nine innocent individuals. Eyewitnesses described a gruesome scene as Denham, armed with a knife, indiscriminately attacked anyone who crossed his path. Even elderly villagers were not spared from his senseless violence, as he ensured his victims were fatally wounded before moving on to the next.

In response to the unfolding chaos, enraged youths from the community took matters into their own hands. They surrounded Ali Denham, disarmed him, and subjected him to a brutal beating, ultimately leading to his demise. The incident left the community in turmoil and mourning for the lives lost in this senseless act of violence.

“The incident happened on Wednesday at Sheleng community,” a source within the community confirmed, recounting the horrifying details of the attack. As the community grappled with the aftermath, the remains of the deceased victims were laid to rest on Thursday evening, their families and friends mourning their untimely deaths.

Adding to the tragedy, it was reported that family members of the mentally-ill suspect had fled the community in the wake of the incident, leaving behind a deeply shaken village.

As this community tries to come to terms with the harrowing events that transpired, questions remain about the circumstances that drove Ali Denham to commit such a heinous act.
