Abia North: Kalu Reacts to Judgment
The chief whip of the Senate, Orji Uzor Kalu has reacted to the Monday’s judgment of the National and State Assembly Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia that nullified his victory at the February 23 National Assembly election.
Kalu in a statement issued by his media office on Monday declared that he will challenge the decision of the Tribunal at the appellate court and is not losing sleep over the judgment.
“Following the decision of the National and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, I will appeal the decision of the tribunal at the Court of Appeal.
“The PDP candidate, Ohaubunwa, is not popular among the people and as such, my victory in the national assembly poll as a landslide.
“Any day, any time, the APC will defeat the PDP in Abia North Senatorial District. At the appropriate time, my mandate will be restored” he said.
